Hi there, my name is Victoria Gray. I started Living Less Distracted because of my own challenges with technology. Over the past few years, I found it harder and harder to focus and concentrate. I used to devour books but couldn’t read more than a few pages before my mind started wandering. I was checking my phone compulsively and spending more time on my devices than I wanted. My brain seemed to bounce from one thought to another, like a ping-pong ball on steroids.
All this was affecting my personal and work life, until I decided I’d had enough. So, I spent a year researching the impact technology has on us, looking for a way to fix it. I applied what I learned and, over time, I was able to focus and reclaim control of my time and attention. Most importantly, I rediscovered a feeling of calm and clarity. It felt great to have my sanity back!
Technology is a wonderful thing and it’s an essential part of our world. But I don’t like feeling like technology is using me, instead of me using it. And I know I’m not alone. I’ve talked to others who have similar problems. They tried to cut back their screen time but quickly slid back into old habits. Some tried a digital detox but, once it was over, it was like it never happened. They wanted to unplug more but didn’t know how.
So, I decided to create an online resource for anyone looking to regain control from their devices. A place for people who want to transform their love/hate relationship with technology into something healthier. A place for learning new habits that allow us to reap the benefits of technology, without surrendering control of our time and attention.
